ABOUT

Prior to becoming the site of a tavern in 1720 - beginning a 300-year legacy - 29 Clerkenwell Green was home to Francis Thynne, editor of the works of Chaucer, and later to the celebrated educational benefactor Erasmus Smith. Since then, The Green has hosted offices, restaurants, watch restorers and print studios - and 20 years ago, once again became a pub, welcoming and watering the industrious folk of Clerkenwell. The Green now offers a thoughtfully curated selection of local independent beers, seasonal cocktails and a considered, natural-led wine list.

A neighbourhood pub cherished by locals and enjoyed by visitors from farther afield, it stands as a proud example of London’s tradition of great drinking pubs in one of its most historic quarters. The pub features a vibrant ground-floor bar, generous outdoor seating and a private first-floor events space available for hire.
